DHA Inflammation and maresins
« on: July 24, 2014, 02:09:28 PM »
I try to find a link between ejaculation/testosterone acivity and inflammation.
What can cause an inflammation reaction after ejaculation

Sperm is rich in DHA.
Can a DHA imbalance after ejaculation causing inflammation ?

1/ DHA is used by  macrophages to build another structure called maresin (MAcrophage-REsolving-INflammation). These maresins are the switchs to turn OF or to turn ON inflammation.

2/ The synthesis of DHA from alpha-linoleic acid in the liver can  keep the balance between PGE-1 and PGE-2 what fish oil can't do . Very important ! (source : wikipedia)

Men  seems to have 15% lower blood DHA than women and oestrogens promote DHA synthesis via alpha-linoleic acid.

Then if fish and fish oils don't improve Pois maybe flax seeds and wallnuts can do.
I don't know if someone has its DHA levels tested after ejaculation.

In my case fish seems to help.
The idea is when sperm is "rebuilt", "regenerated" after ejaculation it pumps out all the DHA causing the inflammation process. That's not scientific, just my imagination.
