Hi All,
I came across this article today that I found
very interesting, and thought that some of you in the POIS community might like to read it --
http://www.the-scientist.com//?articles.view/articleNo/34433/title/Do-It-Yourself-Medicine/I found it to be a good article because it seems balanced and fair, not taking a strong side either way on the subject of patients treating themselves.
It also refers frequently to an online community site that is deservedly
very highly respected called, "Patients Like Me" --
(www.patientslikeme.com/.
This is a lengthy article -- but it made me think of all of you, trying your best to find relief from POIS.
On that note -- you'll be hearing in the next few weeks that your POIS grant has gone live! (In other words, that it's been posted, that researchers are receiving notifications, etc). This will likely happen the last week of March, but may possibly not be accomplished until early in the first week of April. I'll definitely be letting you all know, and you'll be able to read your RFP online. :-)
