I have seen a few cases where on /r/POIS and in general on Internet when talking about POIS with someone or someone discovered the POIS subreddit, they insisted strongly that POIS is just OCD or made up or psychosomatic or a psy-op
I can kind of understand how one may come to this conclusion especially if they never had POIS but I still do not fully understand the scepticism POIS can induce in some
Especially when the term has been around for around two decades now, if it was a psy op then it would have had been promoted way more intensively by mainstream media/doctors like many astroturfed things are
But in fact, it was the work of POIS community itself that made doctors have to talk about it more, in the first years most doctors and medias ridiculed it and some still do
When you have had it yourself for a long time and know for sure that just changing thinking does not magically cure it and have researched it deeply and can relate to others who have it and someone comes from outside and tells you it is fake or a psy-op, I just do not get it fully.

Humans believe in dumb shit all the time. Dont get upset if some people don't acknowledge POIS as a medical condition. They are simply just ignorant on the topic.
