Title: New Theory - Leaky Prostate & Prostaglandin Overload?
Post by: millstone on March 14, 2020, 02:55:09 PM
Hi everyone,

A new video just came up on YouTube on March 10 that describes a new theory.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVBxzaWUVUQ

The theory is that there is a leakage of prostaglandin from the prostate gland during ejaculation.

Prostaglandin is an inflammatory mediator:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prostaglandin

When prostaglandins increase in circulation, an inflammatory response happens throughout the body (flu like symptoms).

According to the doc, the treatment is a simple administration of an NSAID (Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs like aspirin or ibuprofen), and additional testosterone supplementation.

Any thoughts on this?

IMO, this makes a whole of of sense, because my POIS symptoms have only started last summer when I can correlate to a time when I feel like I actually damaged by prostate (it hurt for about two weeks after some extreme sexual activity). I do not actively have a urologist, but I am going to speak with my docs about this and dig in further.

I developed a slightly enlarged prostate with dripping after urination not too long before POIS onset for what it's worth

Unfortunately it is not as simple as the doctor described for most of the POIS-ers.
POIS wouldn't be such a big deal if NSAID's worked so well for all of us.

Wouldn't it be better to treat the blood-prostate barrier instead of treating the inflammation from the prostaglandins in the blood? How could we do that? Why is the barrier leaky?

Do not take ibuprofen while Corona is active, somehow Corona take advantage from Ibuprofen.

I didn?t sleep well again last night. I woke up multiple times to use the bathroom (stool and urine), and I couldn?t get back to sleep. I checked my own blood pressure and heart rate, both were elevated throughout the night (been a growing trend the past few months).

It was so bad that I decided to go to my primary care doctor. She fit me in for a same day visit.

She checked my prostate and it?s inflamed and tender. I scheduled with a Urologist for next week.

With that said and what I mentioned above, I?m really starting to think that I damaged my prostate back in the summer of last year when all of these issues really started, and every time I agitate it, my immune symptoms flare up to respond.

I?m wondering if I damaged or blew the semen valves from all the edging / being backed up, and there?s a leak into the blood stream.

I?m thinking that my bowel movements moving at night pass by and agitate the Prostate, which wakes me up, some adrenaline / immune reaction starts pumping, and I can?t get back to sleep. The urine is probably because I can?t hold my bladder because it is enlarged / inflamed.

I will keep everyone updated as things progress.

May not be the problem everyone has on this forum, but it may help some people if it?s Prostate-related (semen leak / prostaglandin leak).
