Title: Red Skin, anyone?
Post by: Alessandro84 on September 30, 2014, 11:44:46 AM
In the same period that POIS started, I had a form of urticaria.
If I scratched my skin, the skin became red and showed the scratched in relief.
Now, I don't have urticaria but I've notice that the day after orgasm my skin becomes red when I manage some rough object, like keys.
Is this linked with POIS or just my suggestion?
If there is a link, it's very probable that POIS rises some form of inflammation on the body.
I hope you understand me...

I used to have this intensely and things would bleed. I still get it to an extent and is one of the more painful POIS symptoms. This is an intense histemic reaction which presents as an allergy but may not be. I understand what you are saying. Eucerin helps ;check out the link-

Link is mast cells. POIS makes the skin MCs more responsive to pressure.

Alessandro84, yep I have a similar symptom, but it's diminished significantly with some measures I've taken this year. Short version: I believe I have MCAS coupled with problematic mercury levels. MCAS-friendly diet and chlorella (for detoxing) has improved my skin a lot. See my posts elsewhere on the forum for more info.

For me the skin symptoms have been:

All of these symptoms have diminished in the last few months.

For me the skin symptoms have been:
  • Red and inflamed-looking skin in face
  • Skin turns red when I itch it, when stretched, and when exposed to hot water
  • Skin lesions that resemble infections (but aren't) that look red and inflamed, and itch a lot (to the point where I can't sleep sometimes; hydrocortisone has helped in that regard)
  • Dry and cracked-looking skin on soles of feet. Sort of resembles Athlete's Foot, but not sure if it actually is an infection.
  • In some places, especially on an around the nose and on the forehead, skin sheds a granule-like dandruff. This correlates with the redness.
  • EDIT: Oh and also, there's a white substance on my tongue resembling oral thrush.

All of these symptoms have diminished in the last few months.
I got some of it. Don't recall mercury exposure tho. Will POIS go away once MC harraser is removed?

I don't know, but that's my hope. Chlorella is proven to be very effective at removing heavy metals, and things definitely started changing once I started taking it (see mercury thread), but there are still unknowns for my case:
I'll post again when I know more.
