Title: Antihistamine treatment (cont.)
Post by: Joe Burger on January 21, 2013, 07:17:47 AM
Back story:  I'm a "textbook" sufferer - Wikipedia's POIS entry could have been written for me.

Last April I saw Dr. Goldmeier in London, who prescribed an antihistamine called Xyzal (levocetirizine dihydrochloride).  This belongs to a group that is less likely to cause drowsiness than older antihistamines.  A single 5mg. tablet taken an hour or two before sex relieved my symptoms, but left me fairly drowsy the following day - nothing that a few stiff coffees and a siesta couldn't sort out - but it affected my sleep cycle.  Whilst it was a big improvement, it wasn't an ideal remedy.

Recently I saw my GP and asked to try a different non-drowsy antihistamine.  He prescribed desloratadine 5mg.  A single tab, again taken an hour beforehand, relieved my symptoms 100%, and did not leave me at all drowsy - in fact I ran around the next day as if my tail was on fire.  Needless to say I am completely delighted!  I didn't feel a single side-effect.

As a word of caution I would say that I have only tried this once, but anticipate that it will continue to work as well in the future.  ;D

I  followed happy2's antihistamine protocol on thenakedscientist forum and got the best result I ever had with anything I have tried.
I am only able to examine the effect on my fatigue since I have constant brainfog.
I used xyrtec nightly  for about a week and half before any orgasm. On the day of the orgasm I use my nightly xyrtec about an hour before orgasm and two Benadryl about 10 mins before orgasm.
That night I only slept about five hours without any of that feeling life has been sucked out.
The results were so good I went on orgasm about 5 times more while  following the protocol without any experiencing fatigue.
Right now I am taking a break from it so I can try other remedies that wil fit into my pois recovery stack but I do believe a form of antihistamine will play a key role in that stack

Xyrtec made very sleepy initially extended my sleep length by multiple hours. I also noticed it started affecting my memory.

Happy2 will be posting a more detail description of the protocol soon.

Hi Joeburger, can you provide us an update if the antihistamine has continued to work for you? Thanks.

I understand what you have to offer or say, and I think it's good.
