Hey!
Has anyone tried any male enhancement supplements such as Semenax for increased sperm production? Been on Niacin for a little while now, and whilst it does seem to help, I'm still not out of POIS.

Spam!? I'm not trying to sell anything here, I'm posing a completely open question because I'd like to know whether any products like that are any good for us. Forget about that particular brand, I don't even know if that would be any better than any other - if any of them are any good at all.
So, again, has anyone tried any male enhancement products for increased sperm production, and, if so, what did you experience?

Our tendency has been to REDUCE sperm.
It´s been seen as the "culprit"
I don't think I remember any sperm enhancement experiments.... anyone?

I seem to remember Animus saying that a natural male enhancement supplement of this type actually caused him to develop POIS.
It would be helpful to know which specific ingredients (herbs, vitamins, etc) are claimed to have this effect. I would bet a lot of these ingredients would be helpful for other reasons.

The POIS member "Finally" attributed some relief of symptoms to maca and horny goat weed which are both herbs thought to increase semen volume:
I have been using a combination of Maca, Yohimbe and Fenugreek, DHEA and enzymes. in recovering from the physical damages of POIS. I take the recommended doses. I take a small amount of Horney Goat Weed although it seems to only work as a cofactor with the others. In also added L-Carnitine about a month ago and it seemed to accelerate the healing process.
I had an O a couple weeks ago and seemed to set recovery back a few days for muscle tightness but there were little other symptoms.
Since I began using these herbs other supplements seem to become more effective. I believe it is because it being delivered in a more thoroughly to where it is needed by reducing constriction of blood vessels.

From wikipedia: "Maca is consumed as food for humans and livestock, suggesting any risk from consumption is rather minimal. It is considered as safe to eat as any other vegetable food."

Seems there's scientific evidence that supports the semen increasing effect of some types of maca.
From wiki:
"A recent review states "Randomized clinical trials have shown that maca has favorable effects on energy and mood, may decrease anxiety and improve sexual desire. Maca has also been shown to improve sperm production, sperm motility, and semen volume.""
Review from some research organization:
"Black maca has better effects on sperm production than yellow maca which has only moderate effects. Red maca, however, has no effect on sperm production. However, red maca has been shown to reduce prostate size in rats in which prostate hyperplasia had been induced with testosterone enanthate; yellow maca has shown moderate effects here, whereas black maca has not shown any effects."

One study from Pubmed:
"RESULTS: Treatment with Maca resulted in increased seminal volume, sperm count per ejaculum, motile sperm count, and sperm motility. Serum hormone levels were not modified with Maca treatment. Increase of sperm count was not related to dose of Maca.
CONCLUSION: Maca improved sperm production and sperm motility by mechanisms not related to LH, FSH, PRL, T and E2."

Awesome! Thanks! I believe that black maca probably is about as powerful as any of those branded supplements, so will go for that for starters. Obviously, the market is overflowing with male enhancement products at premium prices, but why go for those when you can get the benefits by sourcing the ingredients in their raw form?

Energy, I agree. I think I will be trying maca soon.
Improving semen production might have a beneficial effect for me since my frequent ejaculations may overtax my body by forcing it to drain resources to use towards semen production and speeding up the process may help my symptoms. Others including Demo have expressed a similar suspicion that POIS symptoms may be at least partly caused by a problem with semen production related to nutrients and energy used in the process.

Thank you Vincent M. and for the note about it's relative safety, something we should ALWAYS be taking into account.
Just a note, there are several things that Fianally was taking, like L-Carnitine and Fenugreek that may have been just as beneficial for the relief of POIS effects, making it difficult to know "Which of all the components were the actual contributors.
At least it should be safe to try as a new and individual test of a specific "remedy".
Thanks

Tried Maca.
Resullts: Increased libido enormously. Not something we want with this. It was very effective in that sense.
Whatever benefits I felt were overshadow by the very uncomfortable feeling of having to repress extremely high libido. And the crash still happened.
So very effective on the arousal department but no help for my POIS.
