I have another UTI. Today I went to my GP. There was a small amount of protein in the semen. So he gave me antibiotics. Had an UTI 2 months ago. Now again. How often do you have an UTI. I think 4 in one year.
And what do you do to prevent a UTI? I have cranberry tablets but they don't seem to help much.

I put zero, althugh that's probably impossible. But basically I don't have them. I could probably count the number of times in my life on part of one hand... that is if I could remember them.
You said that you had protien in your urine. Is that the indicator for the doctor? Aren't there other indicators like more specific anti-bodies or direct indicators of infection?
Because I'm sure that POIS itself or even failures and problems in other organs that are not related as such to infections can produce protien in the urine.
For instance reactions to long term NSAIDs or kidney disease, and as I said even POIS have this potential. If I have cloudy pee at times, it's ONLY related to POIS, I have NEVER had it outside of POIS. There is no fever, no burning, none of the other symptoms of UTI. I don;t see this as a UTI, but rather a side effect of POIS.
As I said, I havent had cloudy pee for a long time now, and have coincidentally reduced drastically my NSAID intake during the same period.
So perhaps beyond this poll for UTIs, which is a good one, there's room for a whole discussion here apart.

My own GP was on a vacation. This other GP gave me the antibiotics because of my symptoms. And 2 months ago I had the same the symptoms. I was cured by the antibiotics. Normally there is protein and antibodies in the urine. I know that protein in urine can mean something else. But this was a very small amount. I think if it was someone else, without this UTI-history, he wouldn't give any medicine.
And you are right about the NSAID's. I shouldn't use that much. Maybe only 1 or 2 pills on day 1 of POIS.
A few months ago they made a scan of my kidney's an had a bloodtest for my kidney's. Everything was perfect.
