Title: Did anyone else have inguinal hernia surgery as a child?
Post by: LookingForACure on March 27, 2021, 01:03:56 AM
As a child, I had bilateral inguinal hernias, the first one at 3 and the second at 5. Both were operated on and as far as I know there were no obvious complications. Whether or not these surgeries could have caused POIS I don't know, but given the region of the body affected it at least seems worth considering. I am wondering: has anyone else had an inguinal hernia/surgery for one?

I did not that particular surgery, however surgeries I think could have role in POIS and other diseases, since you do catch pathogens if your immune system is not optimal.  I had a circumcision surgery at 10-11 yrs.

I did not have this surgery.

But now I feel I might have an inguinal hernia. There is something which feels like a testicle that grows inside my body in my groin area, like a bit above and right of where the penis starts.
Or maybe it's just a swollen lymph node from my covid vaccination?

I massaged it a bit and now it's gone (also after I walked around a bit).

If it happens again, I will see a doctor.

It is really interesting that you mention it as I also developed inflamed lymph nodes at the exact same spot. Although my skin was a bit reddish as well, but it was only painful when I touched it. Could this mean a connection to POIS? However it disappeared after the second vaccine and POIS hasn't changed in any way.
Regarding the inguinal hernia issue I must say that I also had it, however POIS was present years before that. The inguinal hernia I had was actually caused by the medication they used to treat my "mental" problems. I took olanzapine (Zyprexa) for half a year and gained 20 kilograms in weight. Then at a time my mother was driving and had to push the break really hard and the seat belt did the rest to my weakened abdominal wall. My case was a bit serious as it completely blocked passage in the intestine and I needed immediate surgery. They gave me some heavy antibiotics as well. Regardless I had some POIS symptoms throughout my recovery, so nor inguinal hernia, neither antibiotics have changed anything permanently.

Interesting fact is that I often had itchiness in this groin area (I shower every day and without soap, so I guess the itchiness is an internal problem, not from dirt or allergy or whatever). After orgasm, the itchiness is more intense.

I was at the doctor today because the bulge(?) at the groin came back. He confirmed it is inguinal hernia and recommends to do a sugergy in the next years (nothing urgent though).
I also asked about the lymph knot topic, he said it can very well be related to vaccination, but it's for sure a inguinal hernia and not just a random lymph knot. (He did some test where I had to cough)

Maybe predisposition to inguinal hernia is same as predisposition to POIS?
But I guess like you, it's probably random.

I am glad you had it checked if it was really that. I had it 18 years ago when I was 18 and I had no problems with it since then. A minor trouble I noticed is that when I keep hopping and reach about 50-100 I often get a severe cramping pain in the general area that makes me unable to continue, but otherwise I have fully recovered.
By the way I have found another really good supplement you could give a try if you have the opportunity. It is called ecdysterone and for me it works even better than Tribulus. Ecdy generally reduces POIS symptoms and has a good anti-depressive effect about 4 hours after consumption. I am going to post more about it later.

I had inguinal hernia surgeries on both my left and right abdominals when I was 7 and 8 years old. I did not develop POIS symptoms until I was 18 years old. I was concerned that having silicone mesh inserts may be contributing to POIS symptoms because Silicone in the body can suppress the immune system. However I found out that they do not use mesh on children because their body is still growing.
