Title: Viral induced pois
Post by: Labyrinth on March 16, 2020, 04:02:11 AM
I read abput the tremendous effects viruses can induce in human being

Am thinking that pois was induced by viral flu like illness and that caused permanent immunological changes or enzymatic defect

What do u all think?

I have been suffering from eczema from age 8 (randomly pops up and I have to use steroid creams 0.5% to get rid of it), and pretty much get ill from sickness every single winter and summer gives me hay fever. So I guess when the body is compromised POIS is just another addition to the list of my problems.

Good idea Labyrinth!
"During vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV) replication, host translation is rapidly inhibited, an event that is mainly attributed to virus-induced modifications of host eukaryotic initiation factor-4F (eIF4F) that enhance translational efficiency of viral mRNA while dampening synthesis of host proteins, including antiviral defense enzymes (Connor and Lyles, 2002; 2005)."
-Inhibition of viral protein translation by indomethacin in vesicular stomatitis virus infection: role of eIF2α kinase PKR (2015) (https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/pdf/10.1111/cmi.12446)

The changes to the immune system (host antiviral defense enzymes) described in this paper can be inhibited/reversed though.
