Hi all,
When I have a strong orgasm, I have lighter symtoms. When my orgasm is not so great, I have severe symtoms.
Does anyone experience this?
-
Yes, exactly.
I know that in my case, a retro-ejaculation is BAD news. For whatever the reason, if it's held inside, backed up or doesn't really completely "eject" I can have a session that's 3 or 4 times worse, easily. Sometimes I would have weak erections and if it didn't go deep, and there wasn't a clean clear pasageway, the session would be bad.
At one point I resisted orgasm if I felt that wouldn't be strong (quite difficult to resist!), or made an effort to really give it a good "push" and clear everything out.
Applying those rules, I can reduce the severity, although it's not always easy.

Hi Daveman!
What you wrote, sounds so familiar! Exactly how I experience this!

My experience is the reverse. the stronger the orgasm, the worse the symptoms.

I stumbled upon this old thread, and it is interesting information for me. I have mentioned elsewhere that sometime my POIS symptoms are worst and, I don'y know why, but this thread reminds me of the only thing I know that helps me predict if my POIS symptoms will be more severe or not ( this, in the context of not using my usual prevention method, which I do not do anymore)
I have noticed that, if I do not release in a good "momentum",. that is, that I have tried to avoid passing the point of no return, but I do pass it anyway, so I kind of release while trying to put the breaks on, then my POIS symptoms will be worst.
On the opposite, if I really "go for it" and am "on a roll", my POIS will usually be less severe.
Unfortunately, as I said elsewhere, I have been plagued since childhood by a general anxiety disorder, and for me, sexuality in general, and release in particular, as been affected by this, so my O's have all been, to a certain extent, like damp squibs.
My psychotherapy is still on going, so may come a time when I will feel I have more "free" O's, so I could see if those free O's would still cause POIS or not. For now, there is always a kind of block, it seems, so I cannot test my hypothesis till I can have a more natural and fluid O.
However, following a NE, when my mental/psychological blocking is less present because I am asleep, I have less POIS symptoms ( not sure If this is the reason why, but I really do have far less symptoms following a NE than after a waking state release ). This tend to make me believe that in my case, the less anxiety and psychological resistance I have, the less my POIS symptoms are. Is there a muscle I contract somewhere when I am anxious that forces the semen in a place it should not go? I don't know, but the comments above by other POIS sufferers make me think it is possible ( even if in one of these cases, it is the exact opposite situation - POIS is really a complex syndrome! )
Has anyone else noticed a link between the fluidity and intensity of O vs the severity of POIS symptoms?
