Thanks for this informative link, Colm.

I have been following the developments in the field of probiotics, for some years now, and it is very promising.  Some studies on "psychobiotics" strains, aiming at improving mood and emotional stability, are already under way.

I am convince that probably almost any POIS sufferers would benefit from taking some quality probiotics supplements from time to time.

I think that fecal transplants are still not known enough to be totally safe, currently, but supplementing a single strains or a group of strains, that have been studied and are isolated in a supplement, is a very safe approach.

Thanks for the article. I'm also interested in this topic, especially because of my new doctor and the treament I'm trying now (http://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=2554.0). This doctor also recommended that I read the book mentioned in the article, Gut: The Inside Story of Our Body's Most Underrated Organ by Giulia Enders. I'm mostly done listening to a shortened audio version and it's quite informing and entertaining at the same time.

Another interesting March 2018 research article on Mircrobiome theories for health and healing, and also gut heath and vagus nerve influences.
