I don't know if this has been mentioned on here before or if anyone else is using it, but I thought I'd share my experiences. I started taking a very small dose recently of lithium to help with my mood, and sleep issues. I've found that it's an excellent way, in combination with a small dose of melatonin, to get a good nights sleep. When I was in POIS in the past my sleep was awful! But now it's comforting to know I can sleep despite POIS. I'm careful not to overdo it because lithium can affect thyroid function if the dose is excessive.
Here's a good article on the benefits of Lithium (and also all the articles on that site are pretty good - he even talks about the risks of orgasm).

Thanks, caveeater! Tonight I'm starting melatonin and stopping a very small amount of a strong sleep aid (neurologist's orders after my fainting spells), so...I'm afraid of something as strong as lithium. Even in small doses. But I'm probably older than you and have a history and genetics related to cardiovascular problems.

Yes I heard about lithium but it's dangerous I can't take that risk have too much responsibility of kids. Good luck

Well I've been taking lithium aspartate in small doses for a while now and it does help give me a deeper sleep. However I think it may be negatively affecting my thyroid. It's important to balance lithium with selenium and iodine for thyroid.
