Hi guys!
I expirience fatigue,anxiety,headache,weakness,brain fog,depression everytime after taking a nap,those are also syptoms that I feel during P.O.I.S.
I am super sendtive on caffeine, makes me very euphoric(it start from chest and I feel it in throat as well),and I can't conetrate, can't think clearly .And after that goes away,I feel fatigue and kinda disconected, with exception of euphoria other symptoms are similar as some of those that I feel while in P.O.I.S.
I tried Xyzal (levocetirizine) antihistamine ,cause me complety depersonalisation, and spet 3 days in bed.
Same but bit less severy I expirienced with Diclofenac(Voltaren).
I somethimes use really small dose of beta-blocker (Propranol) for blood pressure, end even after it I somethimes can feel some fatigue and axiety.
All in all mutal symptoms for all mentioned above and for my P.O.I.S is that I am unable to feel "pleasure and satiafaction' and that I expirience some strange unpleasent feeling(emotional) in my chest and throat.(I feel that when not in P.O.I.S as well but instead of fatigue I feel excitment, which is also strange feeling I guess),I am calmless when not in P.O.I.S.
So it puzzle me a lot,why is that and doeas all of that have the same root as P.O.I.S in my case.
Also puzzle me why am I very calm while in P.O.I.S and over energetic when not.
So I am really interested to hear other opinions.

Hi Spartak,
fatigue, headache, weakness, muscle and joint stiffness, brain fog, depression I have also experienced for long time everytime after sleeping or taking a nap.
This for me anyway has got (that is the severity of these symptoms) a bit better, gone down from a scale of 6/10 to a 4/10 in severity by following a lifestyle, nutrition and supplementation approach with some avoidance of O, over last 2/3 years. I don't know if in 2/3 years will I have healed my version of pois in this way.
Also like with yourself, over the counter anti histamines have always had really bad affects on me and make the above a lot worse, so I don't use them. I prefer eating some anti histamine foods and taking the food supplement Quercetin regularly.
It appears for most poiser's that ability to feel "pleasure and satisfaction' from life is a challenge and I expience some strange unpleasant feelings(emotional) is normal. It just shows up in a different way for each person, it would appear. We all have different version of this crappy condition.
The calm vs over energetic thing for you could well be related to the specific vagal tone and changes that occur within your vagus nerve and your nervous system pre and post O.
Probably am not being too helpful here but just a few of my thoughts shared.
Best wishes,
Colm

I get those same feelings after a nap. When they are described in words, they seem all to be POIS type symptoms, yet the overall sensation for me is not really so much liek POIS. Yes, I wonder if somehow our POIS enables these sensations, or makes certain parts of our system, the same ones that are effected by POIS, sensitive to stimulea that others don't feel....
But I check on internet, and there was a bit on how if you nap for longer than about 10 or 15 minutes, you go into a deeper sleep, shich normally requires a longer cycle to terminate. Breaking that cycle can leave you feeling groggy and out of sorts for quite some time. So perhaps for "normal people" it's "groggy", but for us the effect is enhanced and it feels closer to POIS. I hate the feeling. I did try limiting the nap to about 15 min. or alittle less, and the difference was quite noticble. I could actually feel better after the nap. (although it is very tempting to extend it).
You mention the chest and throat.... what do you know... tremendous Vagal Nerve territory. Just where our investigation with Rutgers is going.
So who knows?

Hi Daveman
Yes that makes sense to me as well.I also think that we are maybe just more sensitive.
I read a lot about Vagal theory but I don't think that I am smart engough to comment about it tbh.I hope that Rutgers researh will gave us some answers.
I talked with some friends that take naps all the time, most say that they don't have any problems after and some feel "groggy" for short period of time.
I discovered that hard work/traning gave me some (up to 100%) relief.
Take care.

Hey dude, same here!! I thought I was alone.. After waking up (from sleep / nap), I experience POIS - like symptoms -- lethargy, fogginess, muscle ache etc. And like you, training (intense weight training) helps me too. After every workout session, I feel great, means almost no symptom, more energetic / alert.. On the next day, symptoms return.. I don't know what the actual heck is going on..
