While in a period of POIS, I've noticed that my ability to see greatly impacts my mental processes. For example, when I wear my glasses or contacts, it seems as if my surroundings are overloading me with visual information. I feel very disconnected and have a really hard time thinking clearly and comprehending what I am seeing. As soon as I take off my glasses, I feel more connected with myself and can once again think clearly. I also experience these negative symptoms when looking at something up close that is bright. Like when looking at a computer monitor or black text on white paper. I usually have to adjust my computers contrast and color balance to use it.
Has anyone noticed this?

confirmed. Visual disterbances are most noticeable for me when viewing a monitor which has white text on black background. I sometimes see rainbows coming off the white text. It's horrible.

I also get this. That's why I take off my glasses during exams. It helps me a little to focus more on my thoughts. I also try to focus on one spot with my eyes closed in order to get try to help my concentration. It seems to help..
I also have eyes that shake a lot when I close them. I am under the impression that the brain is somehow over stimulated during POIS resulting in these muscle spasms. I also feel like I am so overwhelmed by this overstimulation from the exterior world that I feel like I can't take decisions for myself (as though I am only acting according to what is dictated by my environment and never really getting the chance to fully live my life)

Same as with OP. I believe it's part of the general irritability symptoms. I've also got tons of visual snow (though I doubt it originated from pois), so you can imagine how much it sucks to be me.

I also have this snow thing in eyes I don't know how to explain this to doctor

Personally I don't wear corrective glasses and I think my vision is quite ok BUT my eyes are very (very) sensitive to light. For instance I cannot go outside without wearing sunglasses, even if the sun is hidden by clouds. And I cannot look at my computer without adjusting the bright to the minimum. And on my computer I change the background color of my applications : grey instead of white, in order to minimize the contrast with the text color.
But it may just be a symptom indirectly linked to POIS, through the depression that it induces. Don't know...
