I just got back from my doctors today after taking some blood work. According to the tests, I'm at an extremely low level of testosterone. 259 L when he told me it should be around 800 for my age - I'm 21.
I'm going to have more blood tests done on me, but could it be that I don't have POIS at all and it's just very similar to having low testosterone? I'm probably going to see a specialist like an endocrinologist, but that's after these next tests come in.

Actually, he just called back, and I talked to him for a few minutes. Apparently, I have an excess level of prolactin in my brain, which has a benign (non cancerous) tumor in there in my pituitary gland, which is causing my low testosterone.

Hi Lith65,
mucuna pruriens increases testosterone. I tried it and it seemed to increase heart beat a bit but didn't help my POIS. Perhaps you may want to try this if your doc is OK with you trying it.

I also tested very low for testosterone. Which usually means "hypogonadism". And that's how the endocrinologist and lab "labeled" me. But my problem is POIS and TRT (testosterone replacement therapy) worked well for my POIS. Still does.
But there are RISKS, especially at your age. Check CAREFULLY with your endocrinologist about risk. TRT COULD lead to your infertility: no sperm=no children. I'm fairly sure that I *lost* my sperm count with TRT -- but I'm older and I had 2 grown healthy non-POISer sons before starting TRT.
Best wishes!

I used testosterone cream for a brief period and basically all there were was side-effects. I was an irritable, short-tempered d*** who was blue-balled by the slightest provocation. But that was just me.

I also believe Low Testosterone to be the cause of my problems, especially because my first symptom was testicular atrophy.
But instead of supplementing with Testosterone directly, I'd like to go higher upstream and try hCG... I read in Tim Ferriss' book, that when he tried it, he "had to ejaculate 3 times a day just to think straight" :o

I think testosterone is my problem too. After I have sex my testiculars shrink up a bit. I notice if I take Maca, alfalfa, and yohimbe, it helps then drop back down low like usual...
Is low testosterone a brain/pituitary problem or a testicle problem?
